Marie Grimm:
Illinois State University; 2025 Graduate; degree in Art Education; BFA Painting; Minor in Anthropology Contemporary Artist Biography: Born 2001 in St. Louis, Missouri Marie Grimm’s work displays concepts of being in flux, embracing internal sensations, and the polarizing acknowledgement of the flawed person through painting and mixed media. Grimm uses vibrant paint and floral brushstrokes/fabrics to push and pull the viewer to lead the viewer to feel the tensions of the relationships being depicted. Her work provides insight on her own personal philosophy of the world being in flux and the complexity of her familiar relationships. Marie Grimm will receive her Art Education and Bachelors in Fine Arts come Spring of 2025 at Illinois State University. She has currently exhibited her work at Julian Hall’s Student Gallery for the shows “Gather ‘round: Giving Form to Folklore” 2023 and “You’re Invited! A BFA Birthday Bash” 2024. Grimm has also taken part in the Student Annual at University Galleries, 2021, 2023, & 2024 (Normal, IL). |
